- Stress and Wellbeing Survey. (You will click "Stress and Wellbeing Survey" and watch the demo or sign-in and do the full
version. They will ask you to register before taking the survey. We have no association with this company.) (We recommend emWave Personal Stress Reliever to some of our patients.) We have a less comprehensive version of this available on the "Inflammation Questionnaire" which you can find in our "Paperwork" page.
Thyroid-related Function – Measures temperature over a period of time and iodine absorption so we know how well you maintain temperature and how much you seem to need iodine.
Food Intake - Of course, what you eat is VERY important. Just filling out the journal will be enlightening for us and you.
Inflammation and Fatigue Triggers - Fill out this questionnaire carefully.
- The morning of your evaluation.
- Get excited about a new you and get ready to improve your lifestyle forever.
- Collect First-Morning Urine: (First-morning is 4 am or later) Get a 'clean catch", which means,

Is there a faster way to lose weight?
Absolutely. Of course, weight is important to get correct, because it affects your health negatively by putting stress on your joints and often your heart. But weight does not tell the whole story. In our office, we have a priority of focus: Health > Fat > Weight
1) Health first - If your body is healthy, you are going to have the energy and comfort to accomplish your other goals. So, if its is a sluggish mind, a sluggish body, a painful joint, nerve, or muscle, a weak or overactive immune system, a high genetic/family risk of disease, or other health issue, health is the best way to resolve the problem. Health means that the body is working at 100% function. Of course, with tissue damage over time, 100% health isn't possible, but we function at 100% of our health capacity. That means "Be the best you can be." If we focus here FIRST, the other goals will be easier and longer-lasting.
2) Fat second - By now, you know that muscle weighs more than fat, right. Fat floats in water; muscle sinks. If you focus on the scale (your weight), you may be discouraged when you are actually making good progress. Notice this example which is common in our office:
Patient A, a 48-year old woman eats, exercises, and relaxes her mind with the priority of Health > Fat > Weight
Patient B, a 48-year old woman eats and exercises with the priority of Lose Weight
- After 12 weeks of hard work, each woman has accomplished her goal.
Patient A lost 12 pounds.
Patient B lost 12 pounds.
- But when we put the women on the bioimpedance scale, the difference is clear.
Patient A lost 15 pounds of fat and gained 3 pounds of (fat-burning) muscle.
Patient B lost 9 pounds of fat and LOST 3 pounds of (fat-burning) muscle.
Which one do YOU think is going to have a harder time KEEPING off the weight and the fat?
If you lose weight the correct way, with lifestyle change, habit change, and getting at the root cause, you will be more successful in the long-run.
3) Weight third -Yes, weight is important, but from the above example, you can see that low weight does not mean healthy. To extremes are the body builder (or just a big, strong guy) who has a lot of muscle and who would be classified as "overweight" and the thin fat person who has an "ideal body weight" but has very little muscle and a high body fat percentage even though they look skinny. These are differences that are easy for use to measure in the office.
The focus which is just on weight uses the BMI. If you are familiar with the BMI (Body Mass Index), which basically measures your weight as compared to your height, you can see the potential flaws. It is good for statistics, but YOU are not a statistic!
